    Covid-19 Measures

    It is with great pleasure that we announce that thanks to the formidable, dedicated hard work of our medical front-liners, health and police authorities and the resilient local public, #Malta has been recognized by the #WorldHealthOrganization as one of those front countries who have fought the COVID-19 pandemic in the most cautious, stringent and proactive manner. It is thanks to our national heroes that our Hotel is welcoming local guests from the 19th June 2020, whereas the airport and port have been reopened from the 1st July 2020.

    We always knew in our heart that we would be back soon! Throughout these past challenging times, our Team has stood by our side and worked effortlessly in ensuring that our Hotel not only improves on the established reputation it was building, but to equally ensure through rigorous training that asides from a comfortable stay, our guests and employees alike, are made to feel as safe as never before.

    Malta, with its dramatic landscapes and alluring beaches, is even more picturesque than it ever was, and with temperatures on the rise, we now look forward to a memorable summer 2020. Therefore, regardless of whether you will be visiting us to forget it all, or if you are eager to continue with your life adventures, at the Solana Hotel & Spa we will do our utmost in ensuring that your accommodation base in Malta will give you the well-needed boost to progress, move forward and rekindle with your freedom.

    In addition, we are publishing the measures that we have/are taking to put our potential guests’ minds at rest. We can’t wait for the opportunity to rejoice with our return guests and host new custom alike!

    Front Desk/Lobby Area
    • Installed a Perspex barrier in the Reception desk area
    • Reception desk possesses the telephone numbers of the public health authorities, hospitals and medical centres for use whenever there is the possibility that a guest may be ill
    • Providing sanitising wipes for guests’ luggage for use by guests/hotel staff
    • Installed units to dispense disinfectant gel in the different areas of the hotel
    • Providing contactless payment methods
    • Disinfecting room keys
    • Temperature control on entrance with isolation of those with temperature more than 37.2 Celsius
    • Providing clear signs for any new measures in place
    • All employees provided with PPE

    Cleaning/Maintenance Service
    • Using germicidal disinfectant/wipes for surface cleaning
    • Possess maintenance and testing documents relating to microbiological and chemical water analysis and operation procedures for dishwashing, laundry equipment and air conditioner maintenance
    • Documenting, hourly anti-viral disinfection of high hand-contact areas (door handles, handrails, lift buttons, etc)
    • All employees provided with PPE

    Food & Beverage Outlets
    • Use of disposable condiments and single use items instead of bottles and containers in the restaurants
    • Extending service time, if necessary, to avoid guest crowding
    • No self-service dispensers or self-service inside and outside the establishment
    • Dining areas are in line with required social distancing (2 metres from others and 1 client per 4 square metres)
    • No smoking shall be allowed at and within 10 metres of the seating area
    • Bar in operation via table-service only, using disposable condiments and single use items whenever possible.
    • All employees provided with PPE

    Outdoor Pool & Leisure Centre
    • Disinfectant dispensers, liquid soap and disposable paper towels provided
    • Capacity to be limited to 50% of the maximum bathing load
    • Umbrellas, sun beds, chairs and other equipment are disinfected after every visitor leaves
    • No crowding in common areas such as changing rooms and toilets
    • Public toilets and changing rooms are disinfected every hour and limited to a maximum of 4 persons at any time
    • 2 metre distance in every direction between each 1 umbrella/2 sunbed unit in open area around pools. Only one person per sunbed
    • No face-mask is to be worn while swimming as the wet fabric may impeded breathing
    • Sauna is available via online or telephone pre-booking only. Walk-in custom may not be allowed to use the Sauna without a pre-booking
    • Fitness Room is available via online or telephone pre-booking only. Walk-in custom may not be allowed to use the Fitness Room without a pre-booking
    • Kids’ Room remains inaccessible

    Guest Rooms
    • Guest room decluttered of unnecessary items
    • Hand Sanitiser available for sale
    • Enhanced disinfection of high contact surfaces

    Spa
    • Installed a Perspex barrier in the Reception desk area
    • Spa Reception desk possesses the telephone numbers of the public health authorities, hospitals and medical centres for use whenever there is the possibility that a guest may be ill
    • Encourage online or telephone bookings. Walk-in custom may not be allowed to use the Spa without a pre-booking
    • Installed units to dispense disinfectant gel in the different areas of the Spa
    • Providing contactless payment methods
    • Relaxation/Waiting area is not accessible
    • Temperature control on entrance with isolation of those with temperature more than 37.2 Celsius
    • Providing clear signs for any new measures in place
    • All employees provided with PPE
